On the morning of Decembem 2, 2023, at lots A3.01 – A3.03, N2 street, Nhon Hoi Industrial Park – Park A, Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh province, the Joint Stock Company of Medicine and Medical Equipment Binh Dinh (Bidiphar) held the inauguration ceremony for the cancer treatment drug manufacturing plant and groundbreaking for the aseptic small-volume drug manufacturing plant. This is the largest cancer treatment drug manufacturing plant in Vietnam, following GMP-EU standards.
Attending the ceremony, there was the presence of Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Nguyen Quan, former Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Le Kim Toan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee – Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly; Ms.Huynh Thuy Van, Deputy Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
The Cancer Treatment Drug Manufacturing Project following GMP-EU standards (Good Manufacturing Practice according to European standards) was initiated by Bidiphar in 2018. It aims to operate with a capacity of 3 million injection products per year and 70 million tablet products per year. The project is implemented in lot A3 of Nhon Hoi A IP on an area of 1,5 ha, with a total investment is over 500 billion VND. The project contributes to serving the production of Bidiphar’s main pharmaceutical line, developed from the largest state-funded science and technology project in the health sector in the country during the period from 2014 to 2019.
Bidiphar’s General Director, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huong, stated that the inauguration of the Cancer Treatment Drug Manufacturing Plant, equipped with two production lines for injection and tablet drugs, will enhance production capacity, ensure drug quality, and actively contribute to the domestic production of cancer drugs at a reasonable cost. Furthermore, the project will create job opportunities for local labor, promoting the socio-economic development of Binh Dinh province.
On the same day, Bidiphar also held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Aseptic Small-Volume Drug Manufacturing Plant following GMP-EU standards. The project is built on the area of 2,5ha at Nhon Hoi A IP, with a total investment of 840 billion VND and an operating capacity of 120 million products per year. This is one of the particularly important projects in Bidiphar’s sustainable development strategy, aligning with the government’s strategic goal of “80% of domestically-produced drugs meeting treatment needs by 2030.”
In his congratulatory speech, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen affirmed that Bidiphar is one of the leading pharmaceutical enterprises in Vietnam, contributing to ensuring timely and sufficient drug supply for hospitals to meet patient treatment needs.
Participating in the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Lam Hai Giang emphasized that Bidiphar’s Cancer Treatment Drug Manufacturing Plant and the groundbreaking of the Aseptic Small-Volume Drug Manufacturing Plant are evidence of BinhDinh has many advantages and potential to attract domestic and foreign investors. According to the provincial leadership, this event marks a new impetus in the province’s journey of high-tech industrrial development in the coming years.
