The Ministry of Construction has recently submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister regarding the location for the new administrative center following the planned merger of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces. According to the proposal, Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, located in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, is considered the most suitable location for the new administrative center.
Firstly, Nhon Hoi Economic Zone possesses a strategic geographical position, regarded as a vital gateway connecting Binh Dinh and Gia Lai to key economic regions across the country. In particular, its transport infrastructure is well-developed and synchronized, including National Highways 19 and 1A, Quy Nhon International Seaport, Phu Cat Airport, and several major expressways currently under construction. These advantages ensure strong inter-regional connectivity, promote trade and commerce, and provide favorable conditions for operating an efficient administrative center.
In addition, establishing the administrative center in Nhon Hoi would significantly reduce construction and land clearance costs, as the area’s infrastructure has already been master-planned in advance. This enables the new administrative center to become operational more quickly, meeting urgent requirements in management and operation after the merger.
More importantly, the Ministry of Construction emphasizes that developing the administrative center in Nhon Hoi will contribute to promoting strong socio-economic development, enhancing invetsment attraction, speeding up urbanization, and creating new job opportunities for local residents.
Combining the above favorable factors, Nhon Hoi is expected to become a new growth nucleus, creating a sustainable and long-term foundation for the stable development of Binh Dinh - Gia Lai in the future.
